Learning by Teaching
We believe in learning through teaching – our staff has been involved in conferences and discussion groups large and small to help share our expertise.
Part of our mission at Interactive Mechanics is to share our experiences and knowledge with the public. We believe in learning through teaching – our staff has been involved in conferences and discussion groups large and small to help share our expertise. Last night, I attended an incredible event by the folks at Philly NetSquared – a Social Media Sampler to discuss the trends and topics related to social web. I was fortunate enough to both present and attend with great results.
NetSquared’s mission is simple: “gather together nonprofits and activists, tech leaders and funders, and everyone who’s interested in using technology for social change.” I lead two discussions during the event: improving your website with better user experiences and the benefits and technology behind mobile websites. Both sessions had a great turn-out and involved a wide range of attendees, from non-profit members to those just interested in learning more. I had the opportunity to reach out to a fantastic group of people with incredible insight and ideas for projects. I also had the chance to sit in on a few other discussions and learn a little bit myself (thanks to Rob Kall for sharing his strategies)!
Improving Your Organization’s Website for Better UX
One of the biggest issues with growing web technology is keeping your organization’s website up-to-date and streamlined for better user experiences. Join this discussion to learn about some best practices about user interface design, information architecture, and web design to present your information clearly and easily to your target audiences.
Utilizing Mobile for Non-Profit Organizations
As the market share of smartphone users continues to grow (over 40% of American cell phone users have them), mobile applications and mobile-friendly websites are becoming key components of an organization’s web presence. In this discussion, we’ll talk about how to make use of current best practices to attract a wider audience on the mobile web, mobile user experience and interface design, and how to use current mobile technologies to your organization’s advantage.
